Hijab (the veil) is one of the obligations of women in Islam, and the parents must help their daughters wear it and it has to be enough time to prepare their daughters before they reach the age that it’s obligated through the following steps:
1 – Make Dua everyday for you and your daughter to keep you on the straight path, and pray Allah to help you do all the obligations and commands of Islam.
2 – It should be some conversations starting from the early age about Hijab, it have to be understood that it’s a Fard (command) like prayer, fasting and Zakah, and that it’s not a choice for the woman to wear it or not if she really wants to please Allah our creator.
3 – The girl from the age of 7 has to dress modest clothes that means no short skirts or dresses above the knee or the like.
4 – Don’t over simplify Hijab by making it only for the men’s desire, she has to understand that it’s a command from Allah woman must to do and she’s rewarded for wearing it.
5 – In the beginning it is possible to wear the hijab while praying and while memorizing the Qur’an.
6 – A girl starts from the age of eight, for example, by wearing a head covering and clothes that cover arms and legs (for example, pants and a blouse). Then start wearing a long blouse and skirt.
8 – A year later, she starts wearing a dress and a long veil (Hijab).
9 – A year before puberty, at about the age of eleven, it is possible to wear an Islamic veil (Hijab) which covers all the parts that Allah commanded to be covered, and has all the conditions of the ritual Hijab.
10 – Let her know or expect that maybe some negative comments such as ( you seem old / fat / old fashion) and advise her not to care about negative comments of others about our acts of worship.
11 – Let your doughter spend time with her friends who wear Hijab.
12 – Let her know that we should thank Allah everyday that he guided us to Islam.
